The Center for Integrative Infectious Diseases Research is a state-of-the art research facility of the Department for Infectious Diseases at the University Hospital Heidelberg. Our mission is to define pathogenic principles of major human pathogens and to translate these findings into the development of novel therapeutic and preventive strategies. To this end, studies at the CIID address the molecular biology, cell biology and immunology of pathogen-host interactions with a particular emphasis on their visualization at maximal tempo-spatial resolution.
