This data repository presents manuscript descriptions of the Codices Palatini (codices belonging to the historical Bibliotheca Palatina originally located in Heidelberg) which have been created as XML-TEI files at the Heidelberg University Library. The description files are organized in datasets according to the main language and subject of the manuscripts.

The TEI files follow an outdated TEI schema originally developed at the Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel and contain some ad hoc solutions which were chosen pragmatically in Heidelberg and which do not always comply with the TEI Guidelines. A future migration of the dataset into a fully TEI-compliant format is considered as desirable.
