The following Custom Dataset Terms have been defined for this dataset. Please read these terms and conditions carefully.

We present excerpts of sixteen guideline-structured expert interviews, conducted for the DATABLIC project in 2020/2021. The interview series aimed to explore the perspectives of funding agencies on their own data sharing policies. The original transcripts of the expert interviews cannot be shared for reasons of protection of anonymity and confidentiality (data protection). For the same reasons we cannot reveal the names of the funding agencies or other concrete information on the funding agencies such as the country either. Access to the excerpts is restricted and only possible by request.

In this data set you will find statements from interviewees who have been assured of absolute anonymity and confidentiality. Therefore, we ask you to handle the dataset and its individual contents accordingly, i.e. in a secure and confidential manner. In concrete terms, this means that the following conditions apply to any access to and usage of the data:
  1. Data access and usage are only allowed upon request and after positive review and response.
  2. The data user is allowed to use the qualitative research data/materials from the research project DATABLIC exclusively for non-commercial, scientific use.
  3. The data user must not make the controlled access granted to them accessible to third parties and keep it protected against unauthorized access by third parties. It is not permitted to publish the dataset or parts of it.
  4. The transfer of the research data/materials to third parties is not permitted. The authorized data user must not forward or share the transcripts or parts of the transcripts to respectively with third parties.
  5. The data user refrains from taking any action that would de-anonymize the research data provided or re-identify the persons or organisations concerned.
  6. The data user is obligated to take appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure that only the data user has access to the research data/materials provided.
  7. The data user is allowed to use the data for their own research only if the intended research use is specified in the data use and access request and after approval by those who are responsible for data use and access.
  8. The community norms as well as good scientific practices expect that in case of successful research with the data, proper scientific credit is given, for instance via citation. Please use the data citation shown on the dataset page.
Any attempt to violate the terms of access and use will be considered violations of the law and violations of good scientific practice, as for example, codified by the Code of Conduct provided by the German Research Foundation. [1]

Sincere data access requests that comply with these terms can be sent to the following institutional body and individuals:
  • Michael Anger (first author, DATABLIC): Michael.Anger@dkfz-heidelberg.de
  • Christoph Schickhardt (last author, DATABLIC): Christoph.Schickhardt@med.uni-heidelberg.de
  • Use & Access Committee of the Heidelberg University Hospital: use-and-access@med.uni-heidelberg.de

Please state the name and affiliation of the data user, as well as a short description of you research interest. Thank you very much.
